How do I get a library card?

Residents of Albany and Rensselaer Counties are eligible for a free library card. Positive identification (ex. license, other photo ID), proof of current street address (not a post office box #), and date of birth will be required to register for a new card. The signature of a parent or legal guardian is required for children 15 and under. The parent must possess or obtain a valid library card in the UHLS system that is in good standing in order for the child to get a library card.
