Eligibility

All UHLS (Albany and Rensselaer Counties) library cardholders are allowed 2.5 hours of free computer time per day, guaranteed 1 hour at a time. Patrons may choose to use this time over several sessions in a day. The library card account must be in good standing (under $5 in fines and fees) in order to access the computers. Non-cardholders are welcome to purchase a guest pass for $1, good for 2.5 hours of computer use within the day. A photo ID is required to purchase a guest pass.

Signing On and Off

1. take your library card or guest pass to any available station.
2. Click the green "Available" link.
3. Enter your card or guest pass number without spaces.
4. If you are using a library card, enter your last name in the next box.
5. Click "OK."
6. Read the Internet Use Policy and click "Accept."
7. A timer bar will appear to let you know how much time is left. When you are finished with your session, click "Done" on the timer bar, and confirm by clicking "End Now."

Printing

Printing is available from the library's computers as well as patron-owned laptops. Printing costs 15¢ per page for single-sided black & white, 25¢ per page for double-sided black & white, and 50¢ per page for color. When sending a document to the printer, choose the color or black and white printer that meets your needs. Confirm the pricing window that follows. Then, proceed to the print release station with your library card or guest pass to pay and print your documents.
